Are you enjoying the moments that you have? I ask this because I am constantly seeing women fly from one thing to the next. Whether it’s an after school activity for the kids, an event, business meeting, workshop, spending time with a family member, friend, etc.; they are constantly on the go. The downfall is that they are never able to be in that moment where they are because they are over committed and are always thinking about the next thing.
I know we all know the phrase, “There are just not enough hours in a day!” Oh boy oh boy I know I used to say this a lot! However, I remember the Lord reminding me that He has given us 24 hours in a day and I had more than enough time to accomplish what I needed.
You see woman of God we do have enough hours in a day. Can you believe that we have creatively convinced ourselves that the problem is the “day”? OH-my-goodness! No the problem is not us being overcommitted, being able to say no, trying to keep up with the Joneses, trying to outshine, trying to force our own way, trying to convince Facebook we are the best mom and/or wife, and whatever else we are trying to do. Nope, it is NOT that at all. It is that pesky 24 hour day that is the culprit. The doggone “day” just keeps running out on us!
For the rest of us that are willing to admit that we really do need a reality check let’s do that today. Examine how, where, and why you are spending your time on the things you do. Stop always thinking about the next pit stop and be in the moment with your husband, your children, your friends, and don’t commit yourself in 20 places. When you do commit to something be there for it and don’t be looking to rush off to the next thing. We are missing so much living life in the fast lane. We will miss opportunities (business and ministry), healing, divine connections, our children growing up, and a good marriage trying to live life defeated by the hours in a day.
When we rest in God’s grace we don’t have to force something that the Lord has already promised. Just be patient and enjoy the moments He gives you. Find purpose and rest in the little things each day.
