Last week I talked about Hannah and her process and I have been thinking… the process makes you say YES! Very briefly I want to give how we are saying yes and what we are saying yes to.
How are we saying yes?
Hannah had to keep going back to the Lord about her barrenness. In our own lives we are dealing with different struggles and the only way we are going to grow, unlock the doors, find answers, experience miracles, and move forth to the next thing is to deal with ourselves with the Lord. It is not easy and it is not pretty. I am sure that Hannah had to deal with some areas in her life that were hard and caused her to have to die to the flesh. This past weekend at our Brunch & Grace we talked about a few of things. Did you know that “truth” was a spiritual weapon and it is something that this generation and culture rarely seeks these days? There are people that will kill you if you tell the truth. You may lose family members, friends, or even your job for telling and revealing the truth. But truth will open the doors and shed light on many things. There are two truths we must face; (1) the truth about what is going on with us (sin, pride, unforgiveness, buried hurt, orphan heart, rejection, etc.) –(2) the truth of God’s Word and what He is telling you. When we deal with this there is grace to heal, deliver, and set free.
What are we saying yes to?
Again, Hannah went the Lord time and time again dealing with herself until she finally let go. Is that not what all of us need? To fully let go? Sometimes we say we have let go of that situation, those people, that person, and material things but if we were to honestly look deep enough we will find that we have not let go at all. CONTROL is a hard thing to release when we have our own process (not God’s) and expected end in mind. Finally Hannah said, “Lord Almighty, if you will only look on your servant’s misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the Lord for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head.” (1 Samuel 1:11)
Take a moment to meditate on this verse because it is powerful thing. Hannah gave up total control to raise her son in her own home to the Lord. JESUS!! It was not until she submitted to the Lord’s will that the Lord blessed her with baby Samuel. May I add that she took baby Samuel to the temple to minister to the Lord under Eli’s care and put into consideration that Eli’s sons were wicked and had no regard for the Lord. Now that is enough to make any mama pass out over and over again.
The process will make you say yes to God’s will and way, to coming out of your comfort zone, to being uncomfortable for the things of God, and saying yes to the opportunities and people you once said NO to.
Ladies I am continuing to pray for you through the process. I know it is rough and you feel like giving up. But the Lord will see you through. Join me on the prayer call tonight as I pray for marriages. So many marriages are in desperate need of prayer and we will intercede. God bless you on today!
