Hello!
I pray that you are well on today. As wives, moms, daughters, grandmothers, ministry leaders, business owners, and career women we make sacrifices all the time. Furthermore, I often hear women say that this is the sacrifice I/we make to have this or to do that. The thing that is most disturbing that I find is that often many of these sacrifices have nothing to do with what our heavenly Father wants for us. Often, what we are giving up to have has everything to do with our own fleshly desires and aspirations. My heart is burdened often because of the way we who say we love Jesus live so much for ourselves instead of for God. The word instructs us to please God instead of man, but we still find ourselves doing the exact opposite. Likewise many have heard and read about the story of Cain and Able and the offerings they brought to the Lord. For many our stories are playing out like Cain. We have brought offerings that we believe are worthy sacrifices and we are refusing to go back and do right. We refuse to accept that we have been disobedient. We refuse to admit that we are scared to bring our best. Deep down we really don’t want the Lord’s way; we want our own will and way. We refuse to admit that we really are not given God our best and first and there is an underlying reason. I mean come on now let’s be honest with ourselves. Our sacrifice is must easier than giving our best right? At least we get a little of what we want even if it looks good up front and is destroying everything else in our path. STOP! Don’t sit there and get mad and all sour. Now is not the time for that. We all have to have a come to Jesus meeting often and I must tell you from experience it’s not the best feeling. But I would rather live in the freedom that Christ gives than live with lies and deception that cause me to live in a prison that I am unaware of. “Why are you so angry?” the Lord asked Cain. “Why do you look so dejected? 7 You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.” –Genesis 4:6 We know how Cain story ends and I am praying that you and I don’t follow is His steps. I am singing, let it go, let it go! Let go of your own way, anger, bitterness, and those stubborn ways. Let’s earnestly follow Christ. Let rise up with boldness and live a life that is set apart and pleasing to Him. Let the world really see what salt and light looks like. Take a good look today at all of your sacrifices. Has God been accepting your sacrifice or are you trying to force Him to accept it? I can sacrifice all my time, money, and efforts in supporting others, making meals for the sick and shut in, and being the best parent volunteer at the school but God maybe saying that’s all good but I need you to preach the gospel over here to the least of them. Obedience is better than sacrifice. Every. Single. Time. I love you and I am praying that by the grace of God you experience more of Him each and every day. Join me on the prayer call tonight. I am praying for you there! DeLonda Adams President, Women Resting in God's Grace
