Good Women Resting in God’s Grace!
How are you doing on this morning? As I sat down yesterday to rest a little from cleaning I noticed something’ with all the things I have going on with family, business and ministry I am not overwhelmed. Then I was able to smile and praise God because I knew I was operating under His grace.
That has not always been the case. You see there have been times where I was just plain ole tired all the time, overwhelmed, frustrated and cranky and being a complainer because I had placed too much on myself. I would fall out and cry and ask the Lord why He was giving me so much and I as quickly as I would say that I would here the Holy Spirit whisper back to me, “I did not put all that on you.” What, what, what? In those times I have quickly regrouped and assessed what was on my plate and take off everything that I had placed on myself for one reason or another.
Ladies I good way to determine what needs to be taken off of your plate is be real with yourself around the reasons you took on the project and why you had to raise your hands and volunteer. If any of the things you take on are because you were coveting, being jealous, you were afraid to say no, you wanted to please someone and etc. etc. then you need to slide it on off your plate and be done. Some things you will have to finish out because you gave your word and you must suffer through but let it be a lesson to sift everything you are doing through prayer.
The Lord does not call us to live a life of being worn out, over committed and overwhelmed. Any child of God that is living this kind of life I can almost guarantee you that the prayer life is suffering and that is not of God. He never calls us to be doing so much that we do not have time for Him. We are all different and some of us can handle a little more than others so stop looking at how much your neighbor does and then compare yourself thinking that there is something wrong with you so you must go get a second plate to keep up. Each of us has a measure a grace. You must stay within yours and discern when you are stepping into a place of striving that your Father in heaven as not placed on you. Be blessed and know that I am praying for you!
For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.—1 John 2:16
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. –James 1:17
