Good Morning Ladies!
Wow what a phenomenal last week and weekend! My husband’s birthday was the 8th and I have been sneaking around hiding stuff for the past month to surprise him by having his siblings, nieces, and nephew come and visit him. So we had a full house but it was so nice to have everyone in one place. Immediately after they left we had to get ready to host the Marriage Social community event at our church that we had been planning for the last 2 ½ months. It was such a blast and so many couples let us know that it was just what they needed for their marriage.
With all of the excitement that was going on I want to tell you that God was good through all the planning, surprises and hiccups. I am always taking a step back to evaluate and question if I am doing way too much. I prayed through it all because never in million years would I thought that everything could have turned out this great. When inquiring about everything that was before my husband and I and the Lord said He was giving us both the grace to accomplish it all.
The Lord reminded me about committing our work and plans to HIM in Proverbs 16:3. I love the way the amplified version puts it…
Commit your works to the Lord [submit and trust them to Him], And your plans will succeed [if you respond to His will and guidance].
The Lord also instructed me to go back and list everything we were doing and start to skim off some things. That meant saying we can’t do 10 big things for marriage ministry, WRIGG, and Life Groups we would have to do 1-2 big things and maybe a few little things. Because you know why? We still have to have time for our marriage, we have children and a home to care for, we need time to rest in the Lord and make HIM our #1 priority.
I saw a post the other day and I cringe every time I see someone say it, “We as women can do it all and have it all.” That is a lie from the pit of darkness ladies! The Lord has given a few things to do well but never can we do 100 things well or some balls are going to drop. When we see that we are dropping balls everywhere we need to know that it is time to pull ourselves off the field in some areas. God ain’t called you be Superwoman. Don’t base your identity on how much you can get done and how full your calendar is. You are facing a battle that you have already lost. It may look like you are winning but believe me it is going to come crashing down at some point if it has not already done so.
There is only one who can do ALL THINGS WELL and that is our Father in heaven. Commit everything you believe that God has given you to HIM and He will make sure everything succeeds. Take everything else and put it to the side. Don’t be sad you can’t do them now because it may be for another time or for someone else to do. You will see in the end that God works everything out and you will not be worn, overwhelmed, and stressed because you will be flowing with the grace that the Lord has given to you in every season!
