Hello & Good Morning!
This morning my thoughts and prayers were around those who don’t see any possibilities at all. My prayer is that we all will begin to overcome that critical spirit.
Here are ways you can tell when somebody has a critical spirit:
OUCH! Are you able to see yourself in any of these? Why are we given over to a critical spirit?
Let just be honest we are utterly prideful and self-righteous.
We don’t have a good understanding of God’s grace and the character of God so we are quick to judge critically instead of righteously. -- Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. –(John 7:24)
We often fall blind to our own stuff and hypocrisy sets in and we began to make critical comparisons and we are deceived. -- The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? –(Jerimiah 17:9)
Let’s be free from all this negative stuff. Here are some ways we can start overcoming this negative spirit.
Know that we are just a wretched mess part from God and His grace and as we start to understand the beauty of His grace we will extend it freely to others.
Instead of being so critical and negative about every single thing in life start focusing on what is true. -
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.-(Philippians 4:8)
You must forgive. A critical spirit will come out of unforgiveness. It’s time to forgive others, forgive yourself and release your bitterness towards God.
